Day 1
Sigiriya
You arrive at the airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka's bustling capital. You'll receive a warm welcome there, and your transport to your hotel in Sigiriya is already waiting for you.
Here you have the chance to get some rest after a tiring journey. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or recharge your batteries for the coming days. During the day, your guide will give a little intro about the rest of the trip.
Day 2

You start your day with a visit to a typical Sri Lankan village, where you get an authentic glimpse of local life. You will take a leisurely walk along the Wewa's, the ancient water reservoirs that play a crucial role in irrigating the surrounding farmland. As you walk along the banks of the lake, you will see how the locals go about their daily tasks, such as fishing, washing clothes or fetching water. These simple actions, performed in harmony with nature, give you a unique insight into Sri Lanka's traditional lifestyle. Later in the day, you will have the chance to meet a local farmer who still cultivates his land using the traditional method of Chena. This ancient farming technique, where crops are grown on rotating fields in the jungle, reflects Sri Lankans' deep attachment to their land. It is a fascinating experience to see how nature and man work together to keep the land fertile.
In the afternoon, visit the legendary Sigiriya, the impenetrable fortress on a rock. To reach the top, you must climb numerous stairs, but the reward is great. The ancient water gardens, impressive graffiti and giant stone lion paws welcoming you make this an unforgettable experience. And the views from the top? Breathtaking.
Day 3

Today is all about culture, history and nature. After a hearty breakfast, you depart for Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka's second ancient capital, a place steeped in rich history and royal grandeur. Your first stop is the archaeological museum, where you get an in-depth insight into the glorious past of this royal city. Here you will admire ancient artefacts and models of what Polonnaruwa must have looked like during its heyday. Next, visit the impressive royal palace of King Parakramabahu, a monumental ruin representing the former power centre of the kingdom. You will also explore several ancient temples, which bear witness not only to Sri Lanka's religious heritage but also to the refined architecture of this ancient civilisation.
Then your journey continues to a traditional woodcarving workshop, where you can admire the age-old art of mask carving. Artisans, masters of their craft, demonstrate how they painstakingly create Sri Lanka's famous wooden masks. Every detail is carved and painted by hand; a process that has been passed down for generations. This unique art form offers a fascinating insight into the island's cultural traditions. In the afternoon, visit the breathtaking Minneriya National Park, a paradise for nature lovers. During your safari, you'll spot several wild animals, but the true stars of the show are the elephants. These majestic animals come to the park in large numbers to graze and drink and seeing them up close in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience.

Sigiriya - Kandy
Today you depart for Kandy, a city known as the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Along the way, you will make some special stops that are not to be missed. Your first destination is the impressive Golden Temple of Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site consisting of five different caves. These caves are located high on a mountain and offer not only stunning views, but also a fascinating glimpse into the past. The walls of the caves are completely covered with paintings that are as much as 2,000 years old but are still in remarkably good condition. It is a wonder to behold these works of art illustrating the life and teachings of Buddha. The caves are also home to one of the largest collections of Buddha statues in the country. Standing, sitting, reclining and meditating Buddhas fill the space, alongside statues of Vishnu, a prominent god from Hinduism. This unique blend of Buddhist and Hindu iconography makes the Golden Temple of Dambulla a spiritual and cultural highlight of your trip.
On the way to Kandy, you will also make a stop at a traditional spice garden. Sri Lanka is known worldwide for its high-quality spices and teas. At the garden, you will learn more about the medicinal properties of the spices that have been cultivated here for centuries. From cinnamon to cloves, the fragrant spices awaken your senses as you discover how they are processed and used in local cuisine and traditional medicine. Day 5
Kandy
Kandy offers a fascinating mix of nature, spirituality and tradition. Today, you will take your time to explore some of its most impressive sights. You begin your exploration at the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, an absolute must-see. This garden is known worldwide for its huge collection of plants, ranging from rare exotic species to native flora. The highlight of your visit is undoubtedly the spectacular orchid collection, which will leave an unforgettable impression with its colorful splendor. As you stroll through the lush avenues, enjoy the peace and serenity of this botanical oasis.
After this natural wonder, visit one of the most sacred sites for Buddhists: Sri Dalada Maligawa, better known as the Temple of the Tooth. A spiritual center in Sri Lanka, this temple is part of the royal palace complex of the former kingdom of Kandy. One of Buddhism's most revered relics is kept here: a tooth of Buddha himself. According to legend, this tooth grants the power to rule the land, which gives the temple even greater historical and religious significance. In the evening, you will be immersed in Kandy's rich cultural traditions with an enchanting dance show. After a hearty breakfast, your day begins with new discoveries in the heart of Sri Lanka. You will be collected from your hotel and taken to Kandy train station, where a breathtaking train ride to Nanu Oya awaits you. As the train winds quietly through the hills, you are surrounded by the verdant splendour of tea plantations, rolling valleys and quaint villages. Today the alarm goes off early for an adventurous day in Horton Plains National Park. Located at an altitude of about 2,200 metres, this unique park is known for its rich biodiversity and pristine nature. During your visit to the misty plains, you have the chance to come face to face with majestic sambar deer, leopards, wild boar and the playful white-bearded langur. Bird watchers will be in for a treat, as the park is home to numerous rare bird species found only in Sri Lanka. After this nature experience, continue your exploration of Sri Lanka with a visit to one of the world-famous tea plantations in the area. Sri Lanka's tea production is legendary, and on a tour of the tea plantation and tea factory, you will learn all about the production process, from leaf picking to careful drying and fermentation. You'll discover the history and craftsmanship behind one of the world's most beloved beverages.
Later in the day follows a tour of Nuwara Eliya, also known as "Little England" for its colonial architecture and cool climate. Here you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery that makes this region so special, with tea fields stretching across the rolling hills.

Today you depart for Tissamaharama, but a special stop along the way awaits in the charming village of Ella. This picturesque village, tucked between mist-covered hills and endless tea plantations, is a true jewel in the heart of Sri Lanka. Early in the morning, you depart for Yala National Park, where an adventurous safari awaits you. A jeep is ready to take you on an unforgettable tour of Sri Lanka's second largest national park. So, although Yala is not the largest park in terms of size, it attracts the most visitors due to its abundance of wildlife and spectacular scenery. Yala National Park is famous for its impressive biodiversity and plays a crucial role in the conservation of several endemic species. During your safari, you will have the chance to observe some of Sri Lanka's most iconic animals in their natural habitat. The park is best known for Sri Lankan elephants and leopards, whose populations are carefully protected here. With a bit of luck, you will see a leopard hiding in the shade of the trees or a herd of elephants quietly passing by. In addition, Yala is a bird watcher's paradise, with numerous aquatic bird species inhabiting the park's wetlands. You continue your journey across Sri Lanka towards the beach paradise of Beruwala, but first make a stopover in the historic coastal city of Galle, one of the island's most fascinating spots. After the many adventures of the past few days, it's time to catch your breath and enjoy a day of rest and relaxation. The morning begins with a hearty breakfast, after which you will have the opportunity to explore Beruwala at your own pace. This charming coastal town offers beautiful surroundings to explore, but you can also choose to relax and take advantage of your hotel's facilities. Enjoy the pool, peaceful surroundings and refreshing sea breeze. In the afternoon, however, adventure is back on the agenda. You will take a boat trip on the Madu Ganga River, a unique ecosystem of mangroves and small islands. During the trip, you get the chance to observe hundreds of different species of plants and animals in their natural habitat. Monkeys swing merrily through the trees, while monitor lizards move slowly through the water. Bird lovers are sure to get their money's worth here, as the various bird species keep a sharp eye on the water in search of their next meal. You will also visit an island where a Buddhist monastery can be found, and the monks proudly display their ancient palm leaf books and explain their traditional way of life. Later in the day, you will visit the turtle hatchery in Kosgoda. Here you will learn more about the protection of these beautiful, endangered animals and get the chance to see their extraordinary life cycle up close. An impressive end to a day full of nature and culture.

Beruwala
Your last day in Beruwala dawns, and it is also your last day in beautiful Sri Lanka. How you spend this day is entirely up to you. Beruwala, Sri Lanka's first Muslim settlement, has plenty of special places for you to explore. Of course, you can also choose to spend your final hours in Sri Lanka at leisure, enjoying the excellent facilities of your hotel. Whether it's relaxing by the pool or a final stroll along the beach, the choice is yours to end your stay in Beruwala in your own way.
