Your Travel Experience with connections-dynamic

Day 1

From Chiang Mai, you head north, and after an hour's drive, you arrive at the Araksa tea plantation. The owner will take you on a tour of the plantation and show you the tea-making process. You then continue on to a Lisu village to discover the local way of life, before visiting Ton Lung temple and its herb garden. After Thai lunch, the walk takes you through the mountains of the beautiful province of Mae Hong Son to pleasant Pai.

Siam Reverive Pai

This beautiful vintage colonial and Thai-style riverside resort is the perfect place to revitalize body and mind. Enjoy an invigorating swim or simply sit out on the terrace and contemplate the breathtaking view. You can also enjoy delicious food and wine in this fabulous setting.

Day 2

Leaving Pai, you take a magnificent mountain road offering breathtaking views of the lesser-known corners of the north. After an hour's drive, you make a stop at the Tam Lod caves, which you explore on foot and by bamboo raft with a local guide. These are among the largest and deepest caves in Central Asia.

It's already time for lunch. You'll visit the iconic Su Tong Pae bamboo bridge and temple. A short drive then takes you to the border town of Mae Hong Son. You start with a stop to visit the "twin" temples Wat Chong Kham and Wat Chong Klang located near the town's lake. Then on to Doi Kong Mu hill, where you'll discover the whitewashed chedi of Wat Phrathat Doi Kong Mu. From here, you have a beautiful panoramic view of the region. You then return to your hotel in the heart of nature.

Fern Resort Mae Hong Son

Day 3

Your day begins with breakfast, followed by a local fishing boat trip on the Pai River. Enjoy the magnificent surrounding nature all the way to the Karen Padong ethnic minority village, where you'll meet the Padaung or giraffe women. Since childhood, the women of this tribe have adorned themselves with rings.

You take part in a workshop in which the villagers teach you about local customs and traditions. For example, you'll learn how to make bamboo dishes or prepare typical kayan dishes over a wood fire. Enjoy a typical meal in the company of the locals. You then leave Mae Hong Son via a mountainous road through magnificent natural scenery. Arriving in Mae Cham, you stay at the Hot Coffee B&B, whose profits are donated to the adjacent Mae Nachorn orphanage.

Hot Coffee B&B Mae Cham
