A dive into history

Your Travel Experience with connections-dynamic

Day 1

You leave early in the morning for Samut Songkran province and its famous train market. This market is set alongside a railroad that is still in use. You will probably stare in disbelief when a train arrives and rides millimetres past the items on sale and the stalls itself for that matter. Next you visit the floating market of Damnoen Saduak. A very touristy place, but that does not alter the fact that it is a unique experience. You drive on to Kanchanaburi for a nice lunch. Here you visit the famous bridge over the River Kwai, the cemetery and the War Museum.

Day 2

On your programme today is a visit to the Erawan Falls which is recognised as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand as it cascades over 7 seperate tiers. The Falls are part of a national park and can be reached via an adventurous path through the thick rainforest. At the bottom of each waterfall is a crystal clear pool sculped by the smooth limestone with a great number of curious fish that will swim up to you as you go for a refreshing dip! It takes roughly takes three hours to explore the total length of the fall and see the seven tiers which span 1500 m. When you reach the highest "tier" at level 7, a picnic lunch awaits. After lunch you can play around and relax at this incredible site. Then you slowly descend and return to your hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast you will head to the Prasat Muang Historical Park, a special historical park which hosts a number of beautiful temple structures erected in Khmer style. After this visit you will be dropped at a local train station where you will board the train for a ride on the "Death Railway" through the tropical forest.

After lunch, return to Bangkok or Ayutthaya.
