Day 1

Yogyakarta

Arrive at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Yogyakarta.

Day 2

Yogyakarta

Today, after breakfast you go on a city tour through the cultural heart of Yogjakarta. You visit the old Kraton, the palace of the Sultan from 1775 with its large number of gardens, halls and pavilions – which partly still serve as residence to the current Sultan - and the old water palace. The village of Kota Gede is the home of silversmiths, silver handicrafts and batik. In the afternoon you visit the Prambanan site, the largest and most divine Hindu temple compound in Indonesia.

Day 3

Yogyakarta

This morning is dedicated to one of the major highlights of your trip: a visit to Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple complex in the world. Borobudur dates back to the 8th -9th C. It was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and, at the top, a monumental stupa with nine layers symbolizing the 9 stages on the way to Nirvana. Today was the last day in the company of your driver and guide unless you decide to keep them for an extra day (not included in the price).

Day 4

Today you complete the program of this particular itinerary. If you have the time, why not stay a few days at the beach or combine this tour with another guided drive?
